CHARLOTTE TILBURY "INSTANT LOOK IN A PALETTE BEAUTY GLOW" REVIEW
It's no secret that Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorite makeup lines. I carry it in both my professional and personal kit and plan on making it my mission to own just about everything she makes because I really love her products.
Last week I ordered a few new products and had the chance to try them out on myself and clients over the weekend. At first glance I was a bit hesitant because I thought the colors were a bit "warm" but they were actually the perfect combination of warm browns and rose gold shades. The pigment isn't bad- especially if you are not a makeup artist and this is your "go to" palette, but as a makeup artist, the pigment and texture was leaving me wanting a bit more. However, you can build on these colors, which I really like.
So... lets take a closer look at this palette. It comes with 3 eye shadows, a bronzer, highlight and two blushes. Everything is labeled with numbers so know what order to apply.
#1Eyeshadow is to brighten, it’s a shimmery peachy champagne color, I love this one!
#2Eyeshadow is a stunning shimmering copper shade, I want this in a larger pan, it has the right amount of warmth to be coppery-rose but doesn’t give me a red pink-eye look. It is similar to MAC's "All That Glitters" but is better.
#3 Eyeshadow is a matte warm brown, pigment is excellent. I like this for under the eye as well and its great for a "smokey eye."
4- Face is a bronze shade, it has a slight hint of shimmer but applies more like a matte. I actually love this as a transition shade or a crease color. It is the perfect color to blend and compliments a variety of skin tones.
5- Cheek is a brown terracotta like blush, it looks scary in the pan but applies with a semi sheer finish and is easy to blend out. I honestly didn't know how I felt about this one, but it has really grown on me and I wear it everyday now.
6- Cheek is a sheer coral pink with a hint of shimmer. It is really is the perfect "pop" of color.
7- Highlight is a pale off-white shimmer on my skin and will GLOW YOU UP! I am obsessed with this color ladies.
When they sent my package they also sent me some samples of their "Magic Foundation" and I fell in love so I ordered it for myself. It is like airbrush makeup in a bottle. And you know how I feel about airbrush makeup ;)
Here are a few pictures of my clients and I threw one of myself in there so you could see my glow too ;) And what I love is one palette created so many different looks for so many different skin tones and shades. It really is a "one stop shop" minus the liner and mascara.
Overall thoughts are this is a good palette and will be a staple in my kit. It retails for $75 and when you think about what you are getting, it's a great deal. There are 2 other "Instant Look Palettes" in the collection. The "NATURAL BEAUTY and "SEDUCTIVE BEAUTY." I haven't tried those yet, but don't be surprised if there is another review coming real soon ;)
